A good way to pick a background is to chose a dominate color from your photographs and then pick your scrapbook backgrounds based on the dominate color.

When first beginning scrapbooking, it is often more effective to choose background with the same general feel as your photographs. As you gain experience, you will feel more confident in adding bits of highly contrasting textures and colors.
