How to Customize
To use our free printable scrapbook templates,
download the files,
open the layered Photoshop file in either Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.
Do a "SAVE AS" and rename it before working on your baby girl scrapbook template so you will have the original layout available for additional pages or in case you need to start over.
When you first open your file, you will most likely get a message indicating that the font used is not available on your system. Just disregard the message and choose your own font for editing the type layers.
You will also notice that there are black boxes instead of the photographs shown in the preview. These black boxes will be used to create a clipping path for you own photos. Your layers palette will also need to be open.
Open your own photos and copy each to a layer above each photo place holder in the layout file. Photos can be copied to the layout by one of the following methods:
In each photo file, select all, copy your photo, activate the layout file then paste. This will place your photographs in the layout file.
OR
With your photo file active, click on the layer in your layers palette and drag to the layout file until the layout file becomes active.
Your photos should currently be covering the black boxes with each photo on a layer above the black box. While holding down the option key (Mac) or Alt key (PC), move your cursor over the line between the two layers in your layers palette.
A new icon will appear that resembles two intertwined rings with a small left pointing arrow. When this symbol appears, click on the line between the layers. You have now created a clipping mask for your photographs. By using a clipping mask, you will maintain the original shape and position of the original layout, but you will be able to move and position your photograph within the mask.
Complete creating the clipping masks for all photos on each of your baby girl layout templates. As each layout is completed, flatten the file and save in your chosen file format. The format chosen will depend on your intended output.
